| Organization:
The
management of FPRF is accomplished by a limited professional staff
reporting to an elected Board of Directors and supplemented with
part time resource supporters. The Board of Directors decide the
organizations policy and direction. A committee structure comprised
of a Research Committee, a Non-Nutritional Products and Processing
Committee and Education and Awareness Committee evaluate proposals,
research application and guidance in exploring opportunities that
can be addressed via research initiatives. The committees are
represented with professional members from industry, academia and
FPRF Membership.
President and Director of Technical Services -
What the position does: Serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the
foundation and reports to the Chairperson of the 20 member Board of
Directors.
Research Committee -
What the committee does: Evaluates proposals and makes
recommendations for their approval and modification for approval for
all nutritionally oriented projects. Further they evaluate all
projects for their scientific design and structure
Non-Nutritional Products and Processing Committee -
What the committee does: Evaluates industrial related proposals and
identifies industry needs concerning non-nutritional use
opportunities for fats and proteins. Additionally provides a
resource for biosecurity and alternative use research solicitation
and development
Education and Awareness Committee -
What the committee does: Pursues the improvement of communication of
all the information dissemination by the foundation and investigates
means by which the information can be utilized both by the
membership while strengthening the image and positive awareness of
animal by-products.
