The exploration of new opportunities for rendered animal products, administering to the conduct of the research projects that support new or improved application opportunities and the dissemination of the information resulting from the research. All FPRF members are provided with semi- annual technical findings and research results from each of the projects until final reports are available. Each member has the discretionary opportunity to utilize the results for individual company application, marketing programs, and further communication with product end users consistent with research integrity.
Special Seminars and presentations are frequent at the semi-annual Board of Directors and committee meetings. Additionally seminars are held as the need surfaces. Grantees and the FPRF President and Director of Technical Services participate as invited presenters on numerous technical programs and scientific meetings. Approximately 65 industry members voluntarily support and contribute in a cooperative effort to focus research resources to the industry’s research needs and initiatives. The major resource has been the university and public research institutions with capable staff and facilities. Thus the foundation is not required to invest capital in equipment and facilities and effectively compliment existing public investments. All researchers are strongly encouraged to publish the results in respected peer reviewed journals. Progress and final reports on all projects are provided to foundation members semi-annually. Research projects focus on a variety of areas that currently include biodiesel, soil amendments and protein and fat objectives in all domestic animal production including aquaculture.
